Who We Are
The Center for the Analysis of Politics and Enterprise is a nonpartisan, nonprofit research organization dedicated to advancing the understanding of the relationship between private firms and political actors.
Mission Statement
CAPE's mission is to provide an objective analysis of the impact politics has upon corporate finance and the capital markets to more effectively design public policy and to enhance corporate operations and efficiency.

Our team consists of academics from around the United States.
Reza Houston
President
Reza Houston is the President and a board member of CAPE. He is an Associate Professor of Finance and Molinaro Fellow at Ball State University. He received his PhD from the University of Missouri. He has published articles in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Financial Review, Economic Modelling, and other journals. His interests include political economy, mergers & acquisitions, and government contracting. He has taught courses in investments, corporate finance, insurance and risk management, portfolio management, fintech, enterprise risk management, and financial planning. He is a CFA charterholder and a CFP® Professional. Reza is also an affiliated faculty member at George Mason’s Baroni Center for Government Contracting.
Stephen P. Ferris
Board Member
Stephen P. Ferris is the Dean of the Eberly College of Business at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has previously served as the Dean of Ball State's Miller College of Business. Prior to this, he was the Dean of the College of Business at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs and Interim Dean of the University of Missouri's Trulaske College of Business. He is a retired retired commander of the US Navy, with a specialty in logistics. He has served as the editor of several academic journals, including the Financial Review and the Journal of Multinational Financial Management. He has published numerous papers in international business, corporate finance, law, federal procurement, and strategic management.
Andrew Lynch
Board Member
Andrew Lynch is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Arkansas. He has published in leading Finance and Accounting journals, including: the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Financial Research, and the Financial Review. He earning an MS in Economics and PhD in Finance from the University of Missouri.
